Meals For Special Occasions

SMOKIN’ HOT SMOKIES

This year, like every year, is filled with so many events and celebrations. Here’s a favorite dish that will make you the hit of the party ! Simple, easy to make, and delicious.

WEDDING MINTS

If there is a wedding being planned, it’s time for Mints. Yes, it means love and marriage and years of wedded bliss, too. But… mints! Consider yourself lucky when you walk into a bridal shower or wedding reception and are rewarded with those creamy, buttery-rich, melt-in-your-mouth confections.

These cream cheese candies go by many names and are often called wedding mints, graduation mints, old-fashioned cream cheese mints, baby shower mints, or simply homemade mints. (Obviously the name changes to fit the occasion, so feel free to come up with a name that fits yours.)

TOUCHDOWN CHEESEBALL

Tailgating isn’t just a pregame activity—it’s a sport of its own. You’ve got the grills firing, coolers packed, music blasting, and the smell of burgers and brats drifting through the lot. It’s where you warm up your cheering voice with laughter, high-fives, and maybe a friendly rivalry or two with fans from the other side.

It’s also the ultimate fan hangout. Friends and family pile in, set up camp, and share food and plenty of team spirit. The energy is electric, and everyone’s part of the same game-day family.

CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Whether you say charcuterie board, meat and cheese tray, or cheese board, traditional differences aside, what you call it and what you choose to put on it is up to you.

Charcuterie [shahr-KOO-tuhr-ee] traditionally refers to prepared meats like ham, bacon, sausage, and other pork products. However, modern charcuterie boards include other meats as well as foods like cheese, fruits, crackers, and spreads.

The goal of the charcuterie board is to create a nice contrast between various foods and make it appealing and appetizing so the people you’re feeding are happy.

Let the party begin! Even if you’re not visiting Louisiana for Mardi Gras, it’s still fun to cook like you’re in the French Quarter.
