INGREDIENTS FOR WAFFLES (makes 4 to 6)

1¾ C. all-purpose flour
¼ C. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1½ C. coffee creamer (any flavor) or half & half
⅓ C. vegetable oil
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T. instant coffee granules

INGREDIENTS FOR SYRUP (makes 1 cup)
1 C. maple syrup
1 tsp. instant coffee granules
1 T. hot water

DIRECTIONS

Preheat your oven to 200°  and preheat your waffle iron.

In a big bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the coffee creamer, oil, egg, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon of the coffee granules. Pour the cream mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk until they’re just combined (a few lumps are okay).

Spritz the waffle iron with cooking spray and pour in the amount of batter recommended for your iron. Close and cook until golden. Set the cooked waffles directly on the hot oven rack to keep them warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve with Java Jolt Syrup.

To make Java Jolt Syrup, pour the maple syrup into a glass measuring cup and heat in the microwave until just hot. Dissolve the coffee granules in hot water and then stir into the warm syrup; serve with the waffles along with any other toppings you’d like.
